Where to stay, Hampton or Best Western?

We%26#39;re thinking of spending a couple of nights on Chincoteague in mid-September. Both hotels look good, and have good reviews. Is there a reason to favor one over the other? With the Hampton Inn, my main concern is bridge construction. Does it hamper the views, and is construction noise/dust a factor at the Hampton Inn? With the Best Western, can you even tell they had a fire there a while back?

Any advice is appreciated. We loved our stay on Chincoteague in 2007, when we rented a house for Pony Week, but we%26#39;re looking forward to a couple of days of peace and quiet in September.

Both are very nice. Here%26#39;s my 2 cents.

The Hampton is in town, and definitely has major bridge construction view and perhaps noise. It is far from the Refuge but close to the Main Street Shops.

The Best Western is older (it used to be the Driftwood) but consistently is the top rated place on Tripadvisor. You cannot even tell there was ANY problem -- the place is meticulous. You are right at the entrance to the Refuge -- so if you want to be at the beach a lot and out in the Refuge it is much closer and more convenient. There are a couple of restaurants nearby (you can walk to the Sea Shell Cafe and McDonalds) but town is a short drive away.

The Best Western is quieter and closer to the beach -- it would get my vote. There are those that like the newness of the Hampton and the breakfast is great -- but I vote for the beach!

I like the Hampton. Nice rooms and service. You can have drinks at dinner and walk around town. Best Western isn%26#39;t that much closer and you may want to drive to dinner.

You wouldn%26#39;t be unhappy with either. The Refuge is nice as well.
