Barnacle Bills is it still there? and is still a great place for crabing? or recommend ur fav place to go crabing in Chincoteague!! TIA!!

Barnacle Bills?

Sadly, Barnacle Bill has closed. There was some sort of property dispute a couple of years back and they opened a few blocks up on Main with the same name for just part of the summer and then closed for good. The original property is up for lease and the spot a few blocks up is the new home of Kite Koop book store. The town dock is a great place to crab though! Also - check with Captain Bob%26#39;s Marina (way south end of Main St). They are very nice people and will give you good tips.

that is sad news about Barnacle Bills...what is town dock? is that where the shops are? and where the kite store use to be?...i will check the marina...maybe someone out there knows good place for crabing...i have a a lot of great memory%26#39;s as a kid from Barnacle Bills....well i guess time to create some news...

The ';Grubstake Plaza';, where the Kite Koop used to be is pretty much vacant at this point because the property was sold and pending development.

The town dock is behind the American Legion Hall %26amp; the laundromat. There is a bulkhead for fishing/crabbing and a launch site for boats %26amp; kayaks. Go on down to South Main and visit with the people at Captain Bob%26#39;s - they%26#39;ll steer you straight.
